ARAG LEGAL INSURANCE
Your ARAG benefits, fully accepted.
Haake Law Group is a participating provider with ARAG Legal Insurance. For ARAG members, many estate planning, family law, and consumer legal matters are fully or partially covered under your plan. We coordinate directly with ARAG so you do not have to.
WHAT ARAG IS
Legal insurance that actually pays for legal work.
ARAG Legal Insurance is an employee benefit offered by thousands of employers across the United States. Like health insurance for legal matters — you pay a small monthly premium through your employer, and ARAG covers legal services from participating attorneys.
Coverage you’ve already paid for
If you have ARAG through your employer, you’re paying monthly premiums whether you use the benefit or not. Using it means getting value from a benefit you’ve already earned.
Significant cost reduction
For covered matters, ARAG pays most or all of the attorney fees directly. Your out-of-pocket cost is typically zero or a small copay — even for matters that would normally cost thousands.
Wide range of covered matters
Estate planning, family law, consumer protection, real estate, traffic, identity theft, civil litigation, and many other categories are covered under most ARAG plans.
We handle the paperwork
ARAG requires CaseAssist numbers, claim forms, and verification. We coordinate all of this with ARAG directly. You focus on your matter, we handle the billing.
HOW IT WORKS
Three steps from member to representation.
First, check your benefit. If your employer offers ARAG Legal Insurance and you’ve enrolled, you’re a member. Log into the ARAG member portal at araglegal.com to confirm coverage and obtain a CaseAssist number for your matter.
Second, contact us. Schedule a free initial consultation. Tell us you’re using ARAG and provide your CaseAssist number. We verify coverage with ARAG directly.
Third, we engage. For covered matters, ARAG pays our fees directly under their fee schedule. For matters that exceed coverage limits, we discuss any additional cost in writing before proceeding. No surprises.

COMMONLY COVERED MATTERS
What ARAG typically covers.
Coverage varies by plan — your specific plan may cover more or fewer matter types. Confirm your coverage in the ARAG member portal or contact us to verify.
01
Estate Planning
Wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, healthcare directives. Most ARAG plans provide robust estate planning coverage.
02
Family Law
Uncontested divorce, prenuptial agreements, name changes, adoption (some plans), domestic relations matters.
03
Consumer Protection
Consumer fraud claims, MMPA matters, contract disputes, debt collection defense, identity theft response.
04
Real Estate
Home purchase and sale, refinance, easement matters, neighbor disputes, landlord-tenant issues.
05
Civil Litigation
Many civil matters under coverage limits, including small claims defense and pursuit of consumer protection claims.
06
And More
Traffic matters, juvenile matters, immigration consultation, tax audit assistance — coverage varies by plan. Contact ARAG or us to verify your specific coverage.
WHAT ARAG DOES NOT COVER
Honest about the limits.
ARAG is excellent for many matters but does not cover everything. Knowing the limits up front prevents surprises.
Most business matters
ARAG generally covers personal legal matters — not business legal matters. Business formation, commercial litigation, and business contracts typically fall outside coverage. We can handle these on standard engagement terms.
Criminal defense
Felony criminal defense is not covered under most ARAG plans. We do not handle criminal defense regardless — we refer to attorneys who do.
Pre-existing matters
Matters that arose before you enrolled in ARAG (or before a waiting period expired) are typically not covered. ARAG verifies eligibility at the CaseAssist stage.
Costs beyond coverage limits
Some matters have time or scope limits in your plan. If a matter exceeds coverage, additional costs are quoted in writing before proceeding. You are never billed without prior agreement.
GETTING STARTED

Confirm enrollment
Check with your HR department or log into araglegal.com to confirm you’re enrolled in ARAG Legal Insurance through your employer.
Get a CaseAssist number
Log into the ARAG member portal and obtain a CaseAssist number for your specific matter. ARAG provides this when you describe your legal need through their intake.
Contact us
Schedule a free initial consultation. Provide your CaseAssist number when scheduling. We verify coverage directly with ARAG before any work begins.
We handle the rest
ARAG pays our fees directly for covered work. You receive representation without out-of-pocket cost on covered matters. Any non-covered work is discussed in writing first.
WHY HAAKE LAW GROUP
Real counsel — not assembly-line representation.
Some ARAG-network firms treat covered members as low-fee work to be processed quickly. We do not. ARAG members receive the same direct attorney attention and substantive counsel as any client.
Same attorney either way
Whether you are an ARAG member or a fee-paying client, you work directly with Derek. Same consultation. Same drafting standards. Same attention.
Estate planning depth
ARAG members getting estate planning through Haake Law Group benefit from real bank-side experience — having administered estates of all sizes, including one exceeding $100 million.
Virtual-first delivery
Phone, video, secure document exchange. Most ARAG matters get handled faster virtually. Reduces friction and fits modern work schedules.
Honest scoping
If your matter is genuinely simple, we tell you so. If it needs more than ARAG covers, we tell you that and quote the additional cost in writing first.
COMMON QUESTIONS
What ARAG members ask before they engage.
Do I have ARAG through my employer?+
Check with your HR department, look at your benefits portal, or log in at araglegal.com. ARAG is offered through thousands of employers across the country. You may have it without realizing — it’s a common benefit that goes unused.
How do I get a CaseAssist number?+
Log into the ARAG member portal at araglegal.com. Describe your legal matter through their intake. ARAG will issue a CaseAssist number for that specific matter. Provide that number to us when scheduling your consultation.
Is my consultation really free?+
Yes. Initial consultations are free regardless of whether you ultimately use ARAG, hire us on a fee basis, or decide not to engage at all. We do not charge for the initial conversation.
What if my matter is not fully covered?+
Some matters partially exceed ARAG coverage — for example, a matter that takes more hours than the plan allows, or work that crosses category lines. In that case we quote the additional cost in writing before proceeding. You never get billed for non-covered work without prior written agreement.
Can my spouse or family member use my ARAG benefit?+
ARAG plans typically cover the member, spouse, and dependent children. Coverage rules vary by plan — confirm dependent coverage in your specific plan details or contact ARAG directly.
What if I’m not sure my matter qualifies?+
Schedule the consultation anyway. We’ll discuss what you need, advise on whether ARAG likely covers it, and help you obtain the CaseAssist number if appropriate. No commitment to engage from the consultation.
